Making Smart Financial Decisions During Tough Financial Times

When the bottom falls out financially, people need help and they need it fast!  And when looking for a solution, it’s important that your family works with reputable people.  National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) and the Association of Independent Consumer Credit Counseling Agencies (AICCCA) want to help you and your family steer clear of offers that on the surface may seem good, but in the end leave families worse off than when they began!

Wouldn’t you agree that the airwaves are filled with ads promising quick relief from debt, as well as promises of happy endings?  Unfortunately, all too often that relief comes at a cost not only to your pocketbook, but also to your credit score and financial future.  Many offer promises that make the path to financial freedom sound very appealing, but the reality may be very different than the sunny pictures in those commercials.

That is why the NFCC and AICCCA are encouraging consumers to thoroughly investigate and understand any debt resolution option before making a decision.  Keep in mind that it’s up to you to do your homework before doing business with anyone, particularly if it involves your finances.

So what should you keep an eye out for when looking for a reputable business?  A tips sheet was created which you can download and share: www.westglen.com/online/Consumer_Information.pdf

NFCC  and AICCCA each have a long record of successfully helping restore financial stability to people’s lives.  For more information, please visit www.DebtAdvice.org.
